As the digital landscape rapidly evolves, with the emergence of generative artificial intelligence, gaming environments, and new media platforms, so too do the methods employed by extremist actors. These groups continue to exploit online spaces, social platforms, and emerging technologies to amplify disinformation, misinformation, and propaganda, often with coordinated, persuasive, and technologically advanced messaging that capitalizes on vulnerabilities in target audiences.

In response to this challenge, the Communications Expo was launched to foster international cooperation, elevate strategic communications efforts, and encourage creative solutions in countering radicalizing narratives.

The Communications Expo aims to:

• Enhance international collaboration on the use of strategic communications in countering extremism and violent extremism.
• Build and strengthen networks among practitioners, government representatives, researchers, creatives, and the private sector.
• Encourage innovation in communications responses, drawing from both field experience and academic research.
• Explore the implications of emerging technologies, including AI, social media, and gaming platforms, in prevention efforts.
• Develop evidence-based solutions to confront propaganda, misinformation, and extremist messaging effectively.
