Our work
Asia and the Pacific
Stretching from Central and South Asia to Southeast Asia and the Pacific, this region is socially, economically, and culturally diverse. While some areas are affected by conflict, others experience different potential drivers of radicalization, resulting in a wide range of manifestations of extremism and violent extremism across countries.
In Central Asia, terrorist organizations are increasingly focused on the region and seeking to expand their reach through an increased online presence in numerous languages, mainly targeting youth. In Southeast Asia, rapid digital transformation has significantly increased connectivity across the country, linking individuals locally, regionally, and globally. While this connectivity brings numerous benefits—enhancing communication, expanding access to information, and supporting economic growth, it has also created new vulnerabilities. Ongoing regional and international conflicts continue to fuel religious, political, and racially and ethnically motivated narratives.
