Hedayah convened the Third International Research Conference in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The event was sponsored by the governments of Australia, Spain, and Norway, Coventry University, Edith Cowan University, the Royal United Services Institute, Swansea University, UN Women and Wahid Foundation.

The conference identified good practices, insights, and effective local solutions to address extremism and violent extremism. It focused on translating research finding into practical policies and program recommendations for practitioners and policymakers.

Following the event, an edited volume of essays was published, featuring contributions from speakers based on their presentations and research. Additionally, a comprehensive brief was produced, summarizing policy, research and program recommendations organized by region and theme. The Conference also developed a P/CVE research agenda for 2017-2018, aimed at addressing research gaps, methodological challenges, and identifying priority research projects.
